This Guide is to help research teams with updating the PI within a SPARC protocol:

Method 1: Updating Primary PI in SPARCDashboard

Method 1.1: Adding New Primary PI to Protocol

Step 1: Go to SPARCDashboard

Step 2: Find the Protocol

Step 3: Click on the Protocol

Step 4: Go to the Authorized User Table

Step 5: Click Add Authorized User Button

Step 6: Search for the New Primary PI

Step 7: Fill out the Required Fields (* Asterisks)

Step 8: Click “Yes” on “Change the Project’s Primary PI?” Pop-up

Method 1.2: Switching Primary PI to Another Authorized User

Step 1: Go to SPARCDashboard

Step 2: Find the Protocol

Step 3: Click on the Protocol

Step 4: Go to the Authorized User Table

Step 5: Find the Authorized User That Will Be the New Primary PI

Step 6: Click the Edit Authorized User Button in the Actions Column

Step 7: Change the “Role” to “Primary PI”

Step 8: Click “Yes” on “Change the Project’s Primary PI?” Pop-up

Method 2: Updating Primary PI Once the Study is Active in eIRB

Step 1: Update the Primary PI in eIRB

• Once the PI is updated in eIRB, the RMID will be updated with the new PI via the RMID-eIRB API. Once RMID is updated, the PI will be updated in the SPARC Protocol via the SPARC-RMID API
