SPARC Performance Improvements

Thank you for being a SPARCRequest user, and we greatly appreciate your feedback documenting when you have experienced delays in SPARCRequest response.

The SPARC team has taken your feedback and have made system performance a priority by dedicating resources to analyze the topic.  We have made what we think to be a significant correction in the with way SPARC verifies RMID connection status.  From this, users should already be experiencing an improvement in response times.

In addition, we have identified some key areas of performance degradation - namely response navigating through SPARCRequest steps, updating calendars and submitting service requests - and have developed plans for programming changes to offer increased response time and a better user experience in these areas. 

Our goal is to have many of these solutions applied over the next few months. We will review the effects of these changes after implementation, with hopes that it improves your experiences as SPARC users.

As an ongoing effort, we will continue monitoring SPARCRequest, its programming, connections and hardware for additional opportunities to ensure optimal performance and increase response times. We will provide updates as this plan progresses, and if new and valuable information becomes available.
